Presentation
Three-centuries-old plane trees in Square Eugène Pasquis.
These two giants, with roots between the two arms of the River Risle, represent the wealth of the natural and cultural heritage of the town of L’Aigle.
They have seen 300 years of history, and botanists say they could live for a thousand years.
For local historians, these plane trees were part of the Château Park, developed between 1690 and 1730, during the reigns of Louis XIV and Louis XV.
They were given the “Remarkable Trees of France” label on 4 July 2016.
In July-August, “Sunday Afternoons under the Plane Trees"" at 5 pm (free): jazz, opera, brass bands, etc.
